BULLDOG PRINT GARNERS HONORS

Yavneh's school newspaper, The Bulldog Print, was named one of the nation's top high school newspapers. In only its fifth year, the paper is fast building a national reputation for excellence. Yavneh’s The Bulldog Print was awarded the “Best in Show” for broadsheet, 13 to 16-page newspapers at the 2012 National High School Journalism Convention, sponsored by the National Scholastic Press Association and the Journalism Education Association.  The annual convention was held from November 15 to 18 in San Antonio with more than 5000 students from 500 schools attending.  Additionally, seniors Rachel Goodman, Kelly Herson and Rachel Siegel were awarded Honorable Mention awards for each of their respective timed writing entries during the convention’s "Write Offs."

YAVNEH ALUM NAMED TO WALL OF FAME

Yavneh graduate Itzy Ribald was one of five inaugural members inducted into the Yeshiva University Sarachek Wall of Fame in 2006. The five inductees were chosen from the more than 500 players and coaches who have participated in the tournament over the past 15 years. Ribald was a two-time member of the All-Tournament Team, a two-time winner of the three-point shootout, and averaged 23.8 points per game over three tournament appearances.

SYLVAN T. BAER GRANT RECOGNIZED

Yavneh Academy is proud to be the recipient of a grant from the Sylvan T. Baer Fund administered by the Dallas Jewish Community Foundation. The Sylvan T. Baer Fund was established and funded in the 1970’s by Sylvan T. Baer through a bequest in his will. This fund has distributed over five million dollars since 1988 to local Jewish agencies.The purpose of the fund is to assist Jews in need in areas of human service and Jewish education. The fund continues to grow and generate income which is used to support the organizations forever. We appreciate being recognized by the Foundation for our contribution to furthering Jewish education in Dallas.
